Lead Gen & Infoproduct Sites

Lead Gen Site
It is almost complete. The only thing left is to create the salesvideo. Since the market appeals mostly to women, I hired a voiceover actress to do the audio. She said she should have it ready later today. In the meantime, I put a placeholder up for the video and started the SEO work today.

Hopefully, thing will move quickly on getting ranked. We will see!

Infoproduct Site
The new infoproduct site is going to promote a series of products on Clickbank in the dating niche. The site is complete and I did most of the necessary work on the squeeze pages today. All that is left is to set up the tracking and PPC campaigns. I should be able to get those completed by tomorrow night.

I have high hopes for this site. It has the potential to do very well considering the volume of traffic available and the number of products in the niche that I can promote through the autoresponder.

Getting Clients... Not So Easy

I've been trying to get clients with very little success so far. I've tried emailing them to get people to watch a video about the services I was planning to offer but that didn't work well. And it turns out that I've become soft since my days of telemarketing. The cold calling didn't go well and I wasn't able to keep motivated after taking the hits.

Instead, I'm going to build my own sites and sell the leads to businesses. This should be much easier to do in regards to selling the leads vs selling marketing services. Also, it would mean less overhead on my end. Rather than having to juggle X number of clients' sites and getting them ranked, now I can focus on only my sites and just sell the leads.

The first lead gen site is almost complete. I just need to write the script for the sales video and create the image for the form. I'll get that taken care of today. After that, it is all about the SEO for that site.

Depending on how long you've been with my blog, you may know that my first affiliate check was from lead gen with a bank in the UK. At the time, leads were selling for 100 British pounds so lead gen definitely has the potential to make a lot of money... if you're in the right market. My goal is to sell leads for no less than $90 each. This means that I have to be in markets where the person buying the leads will make substantially more than I do in selling the leads. Essentially, the customer value will need to be in the thousands.

Infoproducts
After a terrible 2 weeks of sales, I'm seeing that I definitely need to shift my business focus away from the infoproducts as the main money generator. Yes, I want to keep selling them for the revenue they provide but lead gen is going to be more profitable.

With that said, it is going to take time to get the first lead gen site ranked. It just so happens that I found what has the potential to be an awesome product to promote as an affiliate. I will set up the site using the same template that I used for the lead gen site and start rolling with an MSN campaign. The product is in a market where there are tons of other products and the merchants provide content that can be used for autoresponders. I plan to retool that content and create a decent series promoting several products. Maybe a new product every other week.

Work on the new site will begin today after completion of the lead gen site work. If all goes well, this site could bring in a decent amount of money per month.
