I'm Falling Down On the Job

I haven't blogged in forever. Here is the latest.

After an abysmal beginning to April as far as earnings is concerned, my big promotion a week or two ago really turned things around. I'm not going to hit my goals of grossing $2k for the first time but I did bring in some much needed revenue. Well, actually the month is not over so I still have 6 days to try to reach my goal.

My product site has made a serious drop in rankings and it has really effected my income. However, I am creating a plan to turn that around and destroy my competition.

As you know, I bought Campaign Blasts not too long ago. I came to the conclusion after being 4 months behind schedule with the launch of my product that I needed another method to meet my Exit Goal of August. I decided to go full throttle into blasting. How has it turned out?

I had my first, very limited success last Sunday with a promotion I am pushing as an affiliate but nothing beyond that. I'm working on it though. That one conversion with only 3 clicks showed me that the offer is viable. My only problem, and it has been the problem with all of the campaigns I'm working on, is that I can't pull the traffic I need.

To answer that, I bought a month of Wordtracker and am building a list of thousands of words to input into my campaigns. I am also continuing to push and build more and more campaigns to that I can find some winners.

PPC marketing is what brought me my very first affiliate sale back in 2005. In a way, I'm going back to my roots=)

First Blast Launch

I launched my first set of Campaign Blasts yesterday. I have a few clicks here and there but nothing overwhelming yet. No sales either. I plan to add at least 5 Blasts per day.

The promotion on my current product starts today. I let the affiliates know about it but I have not heard anything from them. I hope they promote.

I have also outsourced some editing on my product. I did another interview Thursday but it wasn't good enough to be a feature of the product. Instead, I will use it as a bonus.

WOW!

I'm a firm believer in inspiration. Every so often, you need to remind yourself of why you do the things you do; in my case, spend hours upon hours working on this business. Today, I got a reminder.

While I had my car worked on and my girlfriend and I went to breakfast. Afterward, we went to a nature preserve and just took a relaxing stroll. No worries, no concerns about work, just quality time. I thought about how great it would be to be able to do that everyday without having to go to a job.

Then came some EXTRA inspiration. I convinced her to take us to the BMW dealership. Immediately, one of the reps, Pat, came up to us and asked what I was looking for.

"Either a 3 series or an M3"

"Alright, let's get you set up."

We test drove the 335i and I loved it. I put the pedal on the floor and we launched from 40 to 100 instantly. It was awesome! I want one so bad! It was around $45k.

There are people in this business that make twice that each month. The thought of being able to buy a 335i with cash and only spend half of what I made that month is staggering. If that isn't inspiring, I don't know what is.

So how am I going to do it? With an adjustment to my plan. While I'm still going to come out with 2 products in my current main niche, I will use a different approach to find new markets. For this, I will be using the Campaign Blasts method. I bought the book from BJ's affiliate link the other day and I believe the method has merit. It looks like it will be a much faster method to finding markets than any of the others I've studied or tried.

I've come up with 26 merchants to blast. I will shoot for getting them up by the end of the weekend.

I will also be launching one of the Mass Control techniques Monday. This time around, I'm letting all of the affiliates know ahead of time.

Longest Hiatus Yet

But I've been working. The Product has hit another snag. One of the interviewees is claiming that I didn't pay her. I sent the check but it never arrived. Now I need to find a new one fast.

I have also chosen to find someone else to do the editing while I finish up the product and get the marketing ready for launch. Hopefully they will do a good job.

With this lull, I have started to create 3 new sites. One is a doppleganger of my original product site so that I can get more ads in Google. The other two will be in the markets that I hope to create new products in. Things are rolling but not fast enough. Sales are down and I need more products to ensure a steady income.
